Our mission remains as dedicated as before. The 2024 lineup put emphasis on variant headliners, with heaviness being definitive of all of them. They are Konvent from Denmark, Dread Sovereign from Ireland, Moonstone from Poland and the local favourites Kælan Mikla.

The other bands represent the continuing quality of Icelandic underground music, crafting ambitious songs from one genre to another. These include Altari, CXVIII, Kvelja, MC Myasnoi, Morpholith, Múr, Nornahetta, Slor, Volcanova, and the long-awaited return of Sleeping Giant.

In 2018, ReykjaDoom Festival began as Doomcember, a small yet passionate addition to Icelandic music. It was a time when metal festivals were bursting in the ambitious island. We aimed to create a haven for those who sought solace in slow, heavy sounds, crushing riffs, and dark lyrics. For four editions, the fest grew, but we felt like a change was needed so we abandoned the old name and renamed the festival ReykjaDoom and plan to have our first edition in March 2024.

The festival will commence at the heart of the Icelandic metal scene, Gaukurinn, downtown Reykjavík on the 8th and 9th of March.

ReykjaDoom also books bands for a standalone gig throughout the year. Last October the legends Bongripper obliterated Iceland with its extreme doom metal, and are only a testimony of what will soon happen. Join ReykjaDoom Festival 2024 for a weekend that will leave your ears ringing and your senses overwhelmed.
